12th International Summer School in Erfurt, Germany

In the period from 9.06.16 to 26.06.16 ONPU and International Start-Up School students participated in the 12th International Summer School, which took place in Fachhochschule Erfurt University of Applied Science.
The theme of the school was “International Aspects of Entrepreneurship in Rural Areas of Thuringia”, on which the students had read a series of lectures on German and American professors. In addition to knowledge of business and economics, participants practiced the language skills as the school was attended by students from different countries and continents, such as Indonesia, America, Afghanistan, Pakistan, Mali. Communication and lectures were held in English.

The students were divided into 4 groups, each was suggested a practical task. Two teams were offers to create a business plan for the development of the castle Wiehe (LandLab), and other two teams were to develop the abandoned prison Jugendstrafanstalt Arnstadt. For better understanding of the objectives group trips to these places were organized. Also tours were held in places with a successful business plan, such as Golf Club Wimar Land and national park Baumkronenpfad, to make it clear to the participants what they should get in the end.

The school lasted for 2 weeks, at the end of the first week, the participants talked about countries they came from, and their universities and presented the national dishes. At the end of the second week was the presentation of the projects, which were developed by 4 groups of students, awarding certificates and BBQ-party.

Time spent in the Summer School in Germany allowed to practice language skills, to acquire skills in project management, business planning, and project presentation. Holding of such schools, and international cooperation is very important for the students of the International Start-Up School.
